Aaand here we see one of the rare negative side effects of a utopian-low crime rate. Being persecuted for abusive/manipulative tendencies I can understand, but getting disowned for thievery? The poor guy steals a few sentimental trinkets and suddenly he's treated like a bank robber!

I mean...stealing when everything is free is pretty heinous. Almost worst than stealing when there's money!

Try checking your spam folder for the confirmation email. If you still can't find anything, stay put. I told my site coder so he should look into it shortly =)

That's hardly a criminal record, could even be situational or framed (easy to do for theft). Then such persecution would CAUSE repeat offense because it would be hard to find a legit job (happens in RL all the time). Not much of a utopian society if they can't even rehabilitate thieves (and accept them after)... but then again they say such a society is unobtainable.
